Member of the Month – Heidi

Our Member of the Month, October is Hedi! Heidi’s consistency with her training and newfound practice of nutrition has been outstanding! She shows determination to try new things and this has earnt her the title of  October Member of the Month. Heidi RX’d 20.1 a personal accomplishment, and always has a positive attitude towards her training! We love having you (Heidi) apart of our awesome community. Keep up the great work! 

If you had to say something to someone looking to try CF for the first time, what would it be?

Just do it, step out of your comfort zone and jump into it. The amazing coaches can help scale things down to suit everyone.

How did you get started with CrossFit?

After about two years of thinking about it (whilst watching the docos on Netflix and following athletes on Instagram) I finally got the courage up to follow the Facebook ad and lock in my first session.

How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?

It’s just in my routine now, i work 9-5 so I pack a gym bag in the car in the morning, so I can get in straight after work.

What is one fun fact about you that we may not know yet?

I’ve danced on stage at the Sydney Opera House.

I can also eat a large pizza in 9 minutes.

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?

Getting in that headspace to zone out, not worry about anything except finishing the workout! & the endorphins that hit you and the end of a session.

How has being a member at CrossFit Oxygen helped you on your fitness journey?

I was originally going to the gym still and doing CF until the coaches convinced me to drop the gym and just do CF and after doing that I have seen improvements in my strength, conditioning and cardiovascular fitness. I feel like I am getting more out of CF.

The variety of each workout every week has made me keep wanting to come back improve.

What is your favorite movement/type of workout?

Power cleans & the rower. Just to clarify ‘power’ not ‘squat’ cleans haha!

What is your least favorite movement/ type of workout?

Burpees and box jumps of course!!

What is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment so far?

Doing 20.1 RX and actually jumping over that bar 😉

What motivates and inspires you?

All the amazing people and coaches at CF02 are so supportive and motivating, I just want to keep coming back!!!
