I was already following Holly on instagram and watching her transformation over the years was really inspiring, when i saw that she had opened a gym so close to where I live, and following the gym on instagram too, i decided to enquire to see what it was all about!
Before my first one on one session at CrossFit Oxygen, I felt nervous and anxious that I wasn’t going to be strong or fit enough to keep up. As soon as I walked in and met the coaches, those feelings melted away, they made me feel so welcome and were so supportive from day one. It took me a few sessions to meet everyone and make friends but 4 months later, this gym is my home and the other members, my family – going to the gym and hitting new goals is what I look forward to most each day!
I think my first bright spot was being able to do more than 1 push up! also being able to do a 400m run without dying!
Now, I am focusing on unassisted handstands and practicing getting my hands off the ground for handstand walks.
If I could go back in time, I would have told myself to get off the couch, stop eating junk and go for a walk! This time last year I felt so miserable about my body and how I looked, and I took comfort in eating which obviously was only making things worse – I look at my body and what I eat completely differently now and it’s all thanks to the ongoing support from my coaches and community at CF02
