Member of the Month – Amar

Congratulations Amar! Amar was eager to kickstart her fitness journey post lockdown and hasn’t looked back. She is determined to create a good routine, making effort to regularly show up to class, all whilst giving her best effort! We can’t wait to see what Amar achieves in 2021. Keep up the great work!

If you had to say something to someone looking to try CF for the first time, what would it be?

Try it! CF may seem daunting and overwhelming at first but if you are looking for the perfect mix of weightlifting and high intensity then you have come to the right place.

How did you get started with CrossFit?

I started CF in 2017 when I was bored of regular gyms and boot camps. CF was what I was looking for and I haven’t looked back since.

How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?

I put it in my calendar and make it a priority. It helps knowing that even when I am not at my 100%, I can still come in and do something rather than doing nothing.

What is one fun fact about you that we may not know yet?

I love Star Wars and can talk about it for hours!

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?

Exercise has a lot of benefits but the biggest one for me is the positive impact on mental health.

How has being a member at CrossFit Oxygen helped you on your fitness journey?

It has helped me learn lifts that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise and it has made me appreciate how strong and resilient my body is.

What is your favourite movement/type of workout?

I love weightlifting and getting new PBs!

What is your least favourite movement/ type of workout?

BURPEES

What is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment so far?

Front Squat PB of 65kg this month!!

What motivates and inspires you?

Personal growth. I am always looking to grow and learn and it drives everything I do in life including CF.
