CrossFit Oxygen Reopening Plan 

We are preparing for the gym to re-open to members!  We are excited but also cautious.  We will be following all government regulations, and in some cases, going above and beyond.  We are posting this document to list everything we are going to do to keep the facility clean and safe when you arrive.

These rules are non-negotiable and will be monitored. We are enacting these precautions to keep you and everyone in the community healthy and strong.

*All rules subject to change as required by government policy.

  1. Masks will be worn in line with government regulations for athletes and coaches.
  2. You can enter the gym 5 minutes prior to the start of your training session. No lingering or waiting around.
  3. If you have any signs of any type of sickness, even if you feel it is allergies, cough, sneezing, fever, etc, please stay home. Perception is just as important as reality.
  4. Only people who will be training will be allowed in the gym.
  5. You must reserve your class via Zen Planner, no exceptions. If you can not attend your class, be respectful of others and un-reserve at the earliest convenience. 
  6. No more than 8 people will be participating in training sessions at one time.
  7. Each person must sanitise their hands in their station upon entering the building.
  8. Each person will have their own workout space to use, while in class. This will be marked off with tape. This space will be a minimum of 2 m away from anyone else, most likely much more.
  9. Each person’s equipment for that workout will be laid out in their own personal space.
  10. Each person will have their own cleaning towel for their use only.
  11. Each person will be assigned an area on the rig if it will be used during the workout, and it will be at least 2 m away from the next person.
  12. After completing the workout equipment should be left in your designated space and each person is responsible for disinfecting and sanitising, then placing used clothes into the laundry tub to be washed.
  13. All equipment, floors, rig, etc will be cleaned and disinfected immediately after training is complete.
  14. You must bring your own water and bottles, there will be no refilling from the water cooler if you do not have a water bottle one will be available to purchase for $2. 

We are trying to keep up with changes we are being advised of and pass those along to you as quickly as we can. 

Gym Program & Training

Gym programming will also be changing slightly, this will be focused on re-introducing barbell movements for those who have not touched a barbell in a while, and classes will cater for cleaning time.

All classes will be 1-hour total time. 40 minutes of working time, 15-20 minutes of cool down and clean up.

– Strength Bias 

Considering the unknowns of the re-opening of gyms, we’ve opted for a very strict and straight forward training that has athletes moving within a station style environment. Machines won’t be re-introduced for the first 4 weeks, and then slowly introduced but if you prefer not using them, your coach will sub for another movement. 

Personal Training

All current Personal Training clients will be contacted to re-book in-person training sessions. Scheduled to the clients availability and preferences.

Group class memberships will be limited and all members who have memberships will have access to all in-person classes as prior to COVID-19.

Timetable

Class times TBC, and we will reassess and adjust based on attendance.
